Student Wellbeing
Our College teaching and support staff have the core focus of supporting the wellbeing of the students, to encourage them to be their best selves. We aim to create an environment that builds connections with others, fosters a sense of belonging, and encourages respectful relationships within our inclusive community.
Each student at St. Paul’s is paired with a dedicated Pastoral Care teacher. These teachers meet with students daily, checking in on their wellbeing and progress. This daily interaction fosters a sense of belonging and ensures that each student feels seen and supported.
Our COURAGE Program is a dedicated wellbeing initiative that meets once a week for 30 minutes. COURAGE is an acronym for Curiosity, Organisation, Understanding, Responsibility, Autonomy, Grit, and Ethical Awareness, and it’s at the heart of our commitment to fostering holistic growth in our students.
Students take part in mindfulness activities as part of our drive to improve student mental health.
The friendships forged at St Paul’s are friendships for life. Our program is designed to build resilience and self-esteem, equipping students with the tools they need to face life’s challenges with confidence and grace.

Our intervention programs support students who may be struggling with their studies, ensuring that no one falls through the cracks.
We have established links with external support services such as Headspace, Youth Up Front and GPs in Schools, ensuring our students have comprehensive support networks.
Each year group is supported by a Leader of Student Wellbeing who oversees the pastoral care of the cohort.
Our students have access to the library as a quiet and resourceful place to study, allowing them to focus and enhance their learning experience. The library offers a conducive environment for individual study and group work, fostering a culture of academic excellence.
Competition and camaraderie are also integral parts of our wellbeing program. Students participate in various pastoral care group and house group competitions, including volleyball and football, which not only promote physical health but also teach teamwork and perseverance.
Students have access to our school counsellor on site. This free service offers to support our students during challenging times.
Leadership development is a cornerstone of our program. We dedicate specific days to cultivating leadership skills, empowering our students to take initiative and lead with confidence.
